Task
A customer from the electronics sector wanted to bond the display of a telephone to the associated handset. He found high demands on the tape, such as very high push-out resistance, excellent shock resistance, and good sealing properties against moisture and dust.
The application of the die-cut part was fully automatic. In addition, the display was to be protected against scratches and dirt with a printed film until commissioning.
Challenge
Due to the narrow webs of the display frame and the fully automated application, we were bound by tight tolerances.
It was also necessary to remove the center part and leave the process protection film undamaged.
Solution
Together with the customer and our partner tesa, we qualified a particularly high-quality foam for this demanding application.
Our toolmaking partner also knew how to successfully implement the high requirements for the stamped part, so we developed a unique solution.
